Job Description: 

The Phoenix Drug & Alcohol Recovery and Education Society’s (the Phoenix Society) mission is to encourage and assist British Columbians in achieving personal, family and community health and wellness free from addiction and homelessness. The Phoenix Society partners with local, provincial and federal government and other community non-profits support and enhance citizen engagement, accessibility and social inclusion.

The Phoenix Society is seeking a visionary leader to continue the legacy of meeting community needs with innovative solutions. Reporting to and appointed by the Board of Directors, the CEO will advance the organization’s strategic vision and mission, through operational leadership and oversight.  The CEO will guide and support the highly committed and engaged leadership team in the delivery of efficient, effective and innovative housing, workforce training and recovery programs and services.  As spokesperson and steward for the organization, the CEO will facilitate stakeholder and funder relationships to strengthen partnerships, opportunities and community impact.

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree (ideally in Business Administration or Behavioural Sciences) supplemented with approximately 10 years of senior leadership experience in the social services (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered). The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of community service program delivery with a demonstrated knowledge of non-profit management. The role requires excellent interpersonal communication and team building skills, with a commitment to building a positive and effective organizational culture.
